After the second round of the Carabao Cup reached its conclusion on Wednesday night, the draw for the last 32 was completed including the seven Premier League clubs in Europe
Liverpool will begin their defence of the Carabao Cup with a tie against West Ham next month.
The Reds lifted the trophy in February, after beating Chelsea at Wembley. That proved to be Jurgen Klopp's final piece of silverware, with Arne Slot now tasked with filling the Anfield trophy cabinet.
His first crack at a cup starts in September, with Liverpool among seven Premier League clubs to enter the competition at the third-round stage. Those in the Champions League and Europa League were controversially kept apart for the first time, with extra fixtures in Europe adding further strain to the domestic calendar.
League champions Manchester City, who have won six of the last ten EFL Cups, will host Watford in the round of 32. Elsewhere, Manchester United - winners in 2022 - will take on Barnsley and Arsenal were paired with Bolton.
And the remaining pair of League Two sides were given plum ties, with AFC Wimbledon facing Newcastle and Barrow heading to Chelsea.
Ties will take place over two separate weeks in September (weeks commencing 16th and 23rd), with those competing in Europe, playing in the midweek they are not otherwise engaged.
