Liverpool sold Bobby Clark and Sepp van den Berg for a combined £30million on Thursday. The former secured a move to Pep Ljinders' Red Bull Salzburg, while the latter has gone to Brentford.
Van den Berg reunites with Fabio Carvalho at the Premier League club. They paid an initial £22.5m for the attacking midfielder earlier this month, meaning the Reds have received £47.5m from the west London club this summer, with potentially another £10m to come in add-ons, £5m from each deal. Liverpool also included 17.5 per cent sell-on clauses from all three deals.
As for incomings, the club are closing in on the signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili, according to reports. The expected arrival of the Georgian goalkeeper would become their first summer signing. Mamardashvili will seemingly remain at Valencia until next season as the Reds close in on a deal worth over €30million (£25m) with the Spanish club.
Liverpool are being linked with plenty of names around Europe following the failure to lure Martin Zubimendi to Anfield. The latest reports have suggested that Marc Guehi is a player they admire.
The England international could potentially replace his international teammate Joe Gomez, who was left on Merseyside as he weighed up his options ahead of the transfer window closing last weekend. Newcastle United had agreed a £45m fee for the Englishman earlier in the summer, but that fell through as the Magpies secured their financial position without allowing Anthony Gordon to go the other way.
With Gomez considering his future, Liverpool have become the favourites to sign Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite. According to bookmakers Sky Bet, the Reds are the favourites to snap up the young defender this summer. Manchester United have been keen on Branthwaite but have yet to reach the Blues' £70m valuation.
