Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez was rumored to be on his way out of Real Madrid Castilla this summer, but he ultimately chose to stay. Castilla’s season will kick off with a trip to Marbella this weekend, and Raul spoke to the club’s website to preview the season, explaining that Castilla’s goal will be, as always, to achieve promotion.
“We are capable of everything, but only time will tell. We want to be on the very top, but we also have to help the first team and make sure they get what they need from us” said Raul when asked about the team’s goals.
Raul also shared his thoughts about his tenure in Castilla. This will be his sixth season leading Real Madrid’s second team.
“I’m very excited, every season is a new challenge considering the players who leave and also the ones we sign. On a personal note, I’m very excited to be here, we’ve helped many players to reach professional football during my tenure here and we try to make sure they become better players but also better men, that’s a must in this club,” he added.
