Osimhen was the subject of a high-profile Chelsea pursuit in the final days and indeed hours of the Premier League transfer window. But Liverpool was also exploring a deal "behind the scenes".
In the end, Osimhen's wage demands reportedly got in the way of both moves. Chelsea has embarked upon a new wage structure, and could not find a compromise that would get the Nigerian striker within it, while a Liverpool "blitz" met the same fate.
A move to Saudi Arabia also failed to materialize, with Al-Ahli pivoting to Ivan Toney instead. But such is the breakdown with Napoli, Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Osimhen is closing in on a loan to Galatasaray, with the Turkish window one of the few still open.
