Arsenal’s superstar Bukayo Saka was injured in the latest England game in the Nations League, in which the Three Lions lost to Greece 2-1. Lee Carsley’s boys could not receive three points in Wembley after receiving two goals scored by Vangelis Pavlidis to give his country the win.
For England, the only goal was scored by Jude Bellingham from outside the box, with a powerful shot to equalize the game in the 87th minute. England’s hopes for a draw or win were crushed in the extra time of the second half when Pavlidis scored the late winner to place his country in the first place of League B with nine points, three more than the second place.
The loss was not the only bad outcome of the match due to Bukayo Saka’s injury at the start of the second half, who was substituted by Noni Madueke in the 52nd minute. Before leaving the pitch, Arsenal’s forward was seen holding his right knee while walking in the pitch.
Mikel Arteta hopes on a fast return due to the busy fixtures Arsenal have after the end of the international break. After Bournemouth, the Gunners are going to face Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League after receiving only four points in the first two matches.
The most important challenge will be against Liverpool in the Premier League, who are first in the table. Bukayo Saka’s availability would be a huge boost for Mikel Arteta’s team due to the incredible form the Reds have had since the start of the season under the newly appointed manager Arne Slot.
Liverpool has won six of their seven matches in the league, leaving Manchester City and Arsenal behind them with only one point less.
