Trent Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move from Liverpool to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid have reportedly made a big decision regarding Liverpool superstar Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Over the weekend, Madrid were dealt a huge blow after defender Dani Carvajal suffered a serious injury during Los Blancos’ 2-0 win over Villarreal in La Liga.
The 32-year-old went down in serious pain in the closing stages of the match and it was later confirmed that the Spaniard had suffered a serious ligament injury.
Carvajal wrote on social media: “A serious cruciate ligament injury has been confirmed, I will have to undergo surgery and be off the pitch for a few months. I'm already looking forward to starting the recovery and coming back like a beast.
“Thank you all very much for your messages, I feel very loved.”
As a result of Carvajal’s injury, the speculation surrounding Alexander-Arnold’s future has ramped up.
The Liverpool vice-captain has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid and it has been claimed that a decision has been made.
As reported by Spanish news outlet Marca, Madrid want to sign Alexander-Arnold, and they also see him as a midfielder, which could persuade the Englishman to leave his boyhood club.
In addition, it has been suggested that Madrid could offer Alexander-Arnold a contract proposal if he fails to renew his deal with Liverpool.
As things stand, Alexander-Arnold will leave Anfield on a free transfer as he is in the last year of his contract.
Last month, Alexander-Arnold spoke about his Liverpool future, he said: “I want to win trophies. I’m a player who is highly motivated by winning things and being elite. That’s probably the main factor of anything. I want to win.
“I have always said I want to captain the club. That is a goal of mine, whether that happens is out of my hands. I want to be a Liverpool player this season (as a minimum) is what I will say.”
