The four signings Florentino Perez is working on: three for free plus Wirtz
Real Madrid’s president is focused on improving the team by strengthening all positions adequately, in order to avoid the issues they have faced this season.
According to “AS” newspaper, the club is working on four major deals, but these will not be completed in the winter transfer window; instead, they are planned for next summer.
Three of these deals involve free agents (Alexander Arnold, Alphonso Davies, and Malick Thiaw), while the fourth concerns Florian Wirtz, who is currently under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2027.
*Defensa Central* reports that negotiations to sign Alexander Arnold and Alphonso Davies are already progressing, and both players are expected to be signed in January, when it becomes legal to negotiate and sign with other clubs, as their contracts will expire on June 30.
As for the deal involving Thiaw, the situation remains unclear. He was close to joining Bayern Munich, who have shown strong interest in him. Moreover, Real Madrid is not yet certain about completing the deal for Thiaw, as they are with the other players.
The most complicated of these deals is for Florian Wirtz. The German midfielder is under contract with Leverkusen until 2027 and has a market value of around €130 million. Several major clubs are interested in him, and Leverkusen will be looking to maximize their financial gain from his potential sale.
Real Madrid needs to strengthen their playmaker position, especially given the likely departures of Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos in the near future. As such, Wirtz is seen as a key target. However, the player is reportedly keen on leaving Leverkusen next summer.
It remains to be seen how much Bayer Leverkusen will demand for Wirtz and whether he will consider offers from other clubs or prioritize a move to Real Madrid if the opportunity arises
