JOSÉ MOURINHO BEGS FLORENTINO PÉREZ: "I HOPE THIS PLAYER ENDS UP IN WHITE"

Former Real Madrid manager José Mourinho expressed his admiration for the club and sent a clear message to Florentino Pérez regarding the transfer market. Mourinho, who is currently managing Fenerbahçe, spoke to Cadena SER about his future and his connection to Real Madrid.

Mourinho stated, "I am a man of Real Madrid," and praised Carlo Ancelotti, calling him "the best coach in the world." Although he didn't rule out a potential return to the Bernabéu in the future, Mourinho acknowledged that Ancelotti's succession could go in different directions.

Mourinho suggested that the next coach could be a young and promising manager like Xabi Alonso or someone more experienced. He also mentioned that the club could look within its own ranks, with options like Arbeloa or Raúl. Mourinho expressed his confidence in Florentino Pérez's decision-making, saying, "He has always made good decisions."

Mourinho also surprisingly placed Nico Williams at the center of his statements, calling the 22-year-old winger "a fantastic player." He even preferred Williams over Lamine Yamal, the young FC Barcelona prodigy.

Mourinho said, "Nico is a wonderful player. People talk a lot about Lamine Yamal, who is obviously talented, but I personally prefer Nico. This boy is marvelous, and I hope he ends up in white." This statement was clearly directed at Florentino Pérez, urging him to consider signing Williams.

Mourinho's interest in Nico Williams is not coincidental. With his explosiveness, versatility, and ability to disrupt defenses, the 22-year-old Spanish winger checks all the boxes to strengthen Real Madrid's already impressive attacking line, which includes Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappé, Rodrygo Goes, Brahim Diaz, and Endrick.

However, Williams is currently a key player for Athletic Bilbao, and his price could be a hurdle. The winger has already attracted interest from several top European clubs, including FC Barcelona, which attempted to sign him last summer.
